Temporary reception center for asylum seekers who come mainly from African and Asian countries, in the village of Vracevic near Lajkovac, will definitely be closed in mid-July of 2013. The temporary center in Vracevic was founded in early 2013, due to lack of space in the Asylum Centre in Bogovadja.
The reason for closure of the temporary center in Vracevic is that the center for asylum seekers in Bogovadja now there is enough room for all asylum seekers. The capacity of the centre for asylum seekers in Bogovadja is 150 beds. That center was previously a resort of the Belgrade Red Cross, who rented the facility to the Commissariat for Refugees.
Closure of the temporary reception center in Vracevic was once demanded by the residents of the village, but also of the municipal authorities in Lajkovac in mid-June 2013, on the grounds that the house does not have basic hygienic housing conditions. They argued that 80 asylum seekers stayed at the same time in that house.
