Full capacities for the accommodation of asylum seekers

The Serbian Commissariat for Refugees and Migrations and the police organized an action between the night and morning on January 27th and January 28th, 2014, in which they accommodated around 150 asylum seekers who were outdoors, Commissariat's official Vladimir Cucic stated today.
He said that after the comprehensive action, probably all persons who spent the previous night outdoors, in the fields and woods, when the temperature was below zero degrees Celsius, were provided with shelter.
Cucic said that some of the foreigners were accommodated in the asylum centers and other facilities in Bogovadja, Obrenovac, Tutin and Sjenica, while the ones who did not have a proper asylum status were transferred to the Padinska Skela center so that their identities could be determined.
He also warned that the centers for asylum seekers are full and that there is room for the urgent accommodation of maybe 20 more refugees mainly from the African and Asian countries.
Three asylum seekers, who have been admitted to the Valjevo hospital due to frostbite, fever and tuberculosis, told physicians that they come from Eritrea and Somalia.
"Three persons were admitted to the hospital on Monday between 14:00 and 22:00 hour and they were given a proper medical treatment", said spokesperson of the Valjevo hospital , Kristina Parametic.
She added that one person is suffering from frostbite affecting his hands and feet, the second person is infected with tuberculosis, while the third one has fever and he is on Infections Department.
According to her, all three persons speak English. Two of them said that they are from Eritrea, while the third one said that is from Somalia.
