Source: Dan 13.avgust 2013.

.On August 13th, 2013, Albanian police have arrested 43 Pakistanis and Moroccans near the town of Gjirokastra, who planned to illegally cross the border with Montenegro, in order to proceed to Western Europe. According to local media, two Albanian citizens who were supposed to transport a group of Pakistanis and Moroccans to Montenegro were also arrested.

Illegal migrants have first crossed from Greece into Albania at the border crossing Kakavija and planned to continue from Montenegro to Western Europe.

After the arrest of Montenegrin citizen Nebojsa Milosevic on August 8th, 2013, it has been launched a large police operation against illegal migration in Albania. He was accused for smuggling of Pakistanis and the investigative judge ordered his detention for 30 days in the city Librahadzi.

According to the report of the European border agency, Frontex, Montenegro is one of the countries in the West Balkan that is on the route for illegal trafficking. In the analysis of the risk of illegal migration in the Western Balkans for year 2012, Frontex has published a document which was found during the investigations about illegal border crossings. It is a hand-written route of entry into EU countries over the territory of Montenegro. This route, as Forntex has published, was found in Montenegro and Albania in 2011, and represents the indicator routes which are used for illegal trafficking.

Frontex says that the route from Tirana and Skadar splits into two directions - one through the border crossing Hani e Hoti or Bozaje and the other over Sukobina. After that, the route leads to Podgorica, but it is said that those who go through Sukobina should take the train from Bar that will lead them to the Montenegrin capital. This hand-written itinerary further mentions Cetinje, then Djenovici that are the settlement of Herceg Novi, then Sutorina which is near the border between Montenegro and Croatia, then Dubrovnik and its coast and finally, the airport in Zagreb.
