Arrested for human trafficking

Police Department in Kragujevac announced that A.M. (28) from Vrnjacka Banja was arrested on suspicion of having committed the crime of human trafficking in Arandjelovac on February 11, 2014.

As stated in the announcement, A.M. was arrested in Arandjelovac when police stopped a Mercedes car in which were five foreign citizens, aged 20 to 30 years, four of which were from Eritrea and one from Somalia.

"There are grounds for suspicion that the A.M. was hired, by the unknown person, for 100 euros and paid costs of consumed fuel to transport five immigrants, who had illegally entered from Macedonia, from Bujanovac through the territory of the Republic of Serbia", said in a statement.

The chain of human trafficking, who have tried to reach some of the countries of Western Europe over the territory of Serbia, was cut by members of a police station in Arandjelovac.

On February 12, 2014 A.M. will be conducted to the deputy of the Basic Public Prosecutor in Arandjelovac with the criminal charges, and against five foreign citizens shall be initiated offense proceedings for illegal entry into the territory of Serbia, after which implementation will be undertaken measures envisaged by the Law on Foreigners.
