Seminar on International Protection of Refugees, Refugee Status Determination and Free Legal Advice, organized by UNHCR, was held on May 28-30, 2008 in Subotica (the Galleria Hotel). Lecturers, UNHCR representatives, were Mr Dusan Aralica, Mr Dejan Kladarin and Mr Vladimir Jovanovic.
The main topics were the Serbian Asylum Law, procedures and other standards, refugee status determination, vulnerable categories of asylum seekers, concept of pro bono legal assistance to asylum seekers, and border monitoring.
Asylum Protection Center (APC) representatives Zlokas Katarina, Milenkovic Maja, Vukicevic Vladimir, Semsedinovic Djordje and Djurovic Rados took part in the seminar. They express the readiness of their organization to continue and intensify the work towards providing adequate legal and other assistance to asylum seekers and refugees in Serbia.
