Asylum seekers as their own

In hotel "Berlin" in Sjenica and the former administration building of complex "Jelak" in Tutin, specially adapted for the accommodation of asylum seekers, currently reside about 70 migrants from all over the world. All of them are fleeing from war and poverty and all have the same goal: reach Europe, preferably Scandinavia.

Trustee of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration in Sjenica, Behudin Zekoc says that asylum seekers in this centers have decent housing, proper hygiene, necessary medical care, three meals a day and complete freedom of movement.

"Since the arrival of the first group who came here from other centers in Serbia, in early December 2013, we didn't recorded even the smallest incident. Inhabitants of Sjenica received them well, but from the first group that arrived remained only ten of them, mostly Africans", points out Zekic.

"Also, we have received most Africans and a few days ago a bus full of of refugees mainly from Congo, Mali and the Ivory Coast came from Belgrade. Of course, we are satisfied that the residents of Tutin accepted them humanly and try to help them as much as they can", said Sead Rec, trustee of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration in Tutin.

Otherwise, during the last few months, in the asylum centers in Sjenica and Tutin, except of those asylum seekers who are coming from other Serbian centers which are overloaded, also come those who enter Serbia from Montenegro, via Mehov krs and from Kosovo, across Brnjak, and seek asylum at the Police Department in Novi Pazar.
